NafisaLech Poznan are reportedly looking to reopen negotiations over the option-to-buy clause for Celtic winger Luis Palma following an impressive loan spell in Poland that has significantly boosted his reputation.
The Honduran international joined the Polish side on loan with an agreement that included an option to make the move permanent for around £3.5million.
However, despite Palma’s strong performances throughout the campaign, Lech are believed to be unwilling to meet that full valuation. The proposed deal would still represent a record-breaking outlay for the Polish club, nearly doubling their previous transfer record.
According to Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph, Poznan have already had multiple proposals turned down by Celtic, but discussions between both clubs remain ongoing, with negotiations now progressing towards a reduced fee in the region of £2.6m.
Palma has enjoyed a productive and eye-catching spell in Poland after slipping down the pecking order at Celtic.
The winger has recorded nine league goals and six assists for Lech Poznan, while also adding two goals and four assists during their Europa Conference League campaign, underlining his attacking influence and consistency.
Those performances have gone a long way in restoring his standing after a frustrating second season in Glasgow where regular playing opportunities became increasingly scarce.
Celtic originally signed Palma from Aris Thessaloniki in 2023, and he made an immediate impact during his early months at the club, particularly under Brendan Rodgers, contributing important goals and assists in key moments.
But over time, inconsistency and a lack of sustained form saw him fall out of favour before eventually sealing a loan exit in search of more regular football.
Despite reports of a potential permanent move away from Parkhead, recent indications suggest Palma himself remains open to another opportunity at Celtic, with the player previously expressing a desire to prove himself again at the Scottish champions if given the chance.
Speaking about his future, Palma has made it clear he still holds affection for the club and believes he can perform at the highest level if reintegrated into the squad setup.
That openness has added an interesting twist to ongoing transfer discussions, with Celtic now weighing up whether to cash in or reassess his long-term role within the squad.
