The Light Blues continue to strengthen across every level of the football department, not only by bringing new faces into the first team but also by making significant changes behind the scenes.
With the academy continuing to produce talented youngsters capable of stepping into senior football, the leadership of that department has become increasingly important as Rangers look to build long-term success alongside immediate results.
Now, the club has officially confirmed another major appointment.
Rangers have announced that Brian Gilmour has been appointed as the club’s Interim Academy Director, following the departure of David McCallum.
McCallum leaves Ibrox after more than 11 years of service, having held several important roles during his time at the club, including B Team manager and a brief spell as first-team caretaker manager. He had served as Academy Director for more than two and a half years.
His successor is no stranger to Rangers.
Gilmour came through the Rangers academy as a player before returning to the club in 2017, where he has worked in several coaching and development roles within the youth system.
Confirming the change, Rangers said in an official statement:

The appointment ensures continuity within the academy at a time when Rangers continue investing heavily in youth development alongside Derek McInnes’ first-team rebuild.
Supporters will now hope the latest restructuring behind the scenes helps produce the next generation of academy graduates capable of making the breakthrough at Ibrox in the years ahead.
