Rangers have beaten Celtic to the Signing of World class star as agreement reached for €5.5million Done Deal

Rangers’ ambitious summer rebuild under Derek McInnes is showing no signs of slowing down as the Ibrox club edge closer to completing yet another major signing.

After strengthening almost every area of the squad since the transfer window opened, the Light Blues are now on the verge of landing one of the most highly-rated young midfielders in European football.

McInnes has made no secret of his desire to inject more energy, creativity and leadership into his engine room, and Rangers have spent recent weeks working tirelessly behind the scenes to secure their latest target despite strong competition and lengthy negotiations.

Now, reports from Serbia suggest the deal is finally over the line, with the player expected to arrive in Glasgow in the coming days to complete the formalities.

Rangers agree deal for Vanja Dragojevic

According to Serbian outlet TV Arena Sport, Rangers have reached a full agreement with Partizan Belgrade to sign highly-rated midfielder Vanja Dragojevic in a deal worth €5.5 million.

The report states that Partizan have accepted Rangers’ latest proposal after prolonged negotiations, clearing the way for the 20-year-old to make the move to Ibrox.

Dragojevic is now expected to travel to Glasgow shortly to undergo a medical before signing his contract and being officially unveiled as Derek McInnes’ latest summer recruit.

The Serbian international has rapidly emerged as one of the brightest young talents in his country after captaining Partizan Belgrade despite his age.

His impressive performances last season saw his Estimated Transfer Value rise to €3.6 million, while he also earned his senior international debut for Serbia in a friendly against Cape Verde in May.

Across all competitions, the midfielder made 41 appearances, scoring four goals and providing four assists, further enhancing his growing reputation.

Another statement signing for McInnes

Once officially confirmed, Dragojevic will become Rangers’ seventh signing of the summer transfer window as McInnes continues reshaping his squad ahead of the new campaign.

The Light Blues have already strengthened every department of the team during an aggressive recruitment drive.

Goalkeeper Ivor Pandur arrived from Hull City to become Rangers’ new number one, while Ben Godfrey and Ross McCrorie have reinforced the defence.

Midfield has already been boosted through the free-transfer arrivals of Dan Neil and Cammy Devlin, with Dragojevic now set to provide even more quality and competition in the centre of the park.

Further forward, Rangers also secured the signing of prolific striker Lawrence Shankland, adding proven Scottish Premiership firepower to McInnes’ attacking options.

With another exciting young talent now seemingly on his way to Ibrox, McInnes’ rebuilding project continues to gather momentum.

Rangers supporters will now be eagerly awaiting official confirmation as Dragojevic prepares to complete his medical and become the latest addition to a squad that many believe is increasingly capable of mounting a serious challenge for the Scottish Premiership title during the 2026-27 season.
