Rangers agree Vanja Dragojevic deal
According to reports in Serbia, Rangers have now agreed a deal worth around £4.6 million with Partizan Belgrade for highly-rated midfielder Vanja Dragojevic.
The agreement is expected to include a 10 per cent sell-on clause, with the Serbian club securing a percentage of any future transfer involving the 20-year-old.
The breakthrough follows Rangers’ unsuccessful opening bid of around £3.8 million, which was rejected before the Ibrox club returned with an improved offer.
Partizan sporting director Radosav Petrovic has also hinted that a transfer is edging closer after confirming concrete negotiations are taking place.
“There are certain indications and I believe that in the coming days we will have more concrete information. It is an offer for Vanja Dragojevic.”
Further fuelling speculation, Dragojevic has been left out of Partizan’s pre-season fixtures while discussions over his future continue.
The Serbian midfielder has emerged as one of McInnes’ priority targets after Rangers intensified their search for another central midfielder capable of strengthening the squad immediately.
