The former Scotland forward initially took charge of the club on an interim basis following Ronny Deila’s departure amid allegations of sexual harassment.
Miller subsequently guided the side to success in the Israeli Cup final, defeating Hapoel Beer Sheva and ending the season on a positive note.
According to reports emerging from Israel, the former striker has now won the race to be installed as the club’s permanent head coach ahead of the new campaign.
The ex-Hibernian and Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker has never hidden his desire to remain in the position beyond his caretaker spell.
Miller said: “I have made no secret that if the club offered me something here, I would love to stay on. I have really enjoyed my time here and the challenge of taking over as coach.
“We went through a difficult season with a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. The goal was to finish with a title, and we achieved it.”
Opportunity created by unexpected circumstances
Miller’s coaching journey has already included managerial spells at Livingston and a temporary stint in charge of Falkirk.
However, his move into the dugout at Maccabi Tel Aviv presented one of the biggest opportunities of his career.
The Scot stepped into the role after Deila’s exit, taking responsibility during what was a challenging period for the club both on and off the pitch.
Deila, formerly of Celtic, departed following allegations that he had sexually harassed a taxi driver in Israel.
With uncertainty surrounding the team at the time, Miller was tasked with restoring stability while attempting to salvage success from the season.

His work appears to have impressed those behind the scenes.
Leading the club to silverware strengthened his position considerably, while his handling of the squad reportedly convinced key figures that continuity may be the best route forward.
