Former Sheffield Wednesday forward, Djeidi Gassama, has shared a sincere thank-you note to everyone at the club.
The 21-year-old finalized a multi-million-pound transfer to Rangers this week after they swiftly secured him while the two clubs were both at St. George’s Park, and it’s believed that the funds gained from his sale significantly contributed to settling the debts owed to his teammates and HMRC.
Gassama became a beloved figure during his stint at Hillsborough, particularly in his second season in blue and white, and it seems the affection was mutual, with the young player now sending a message to all those who aided his development ‘as a player and as a person.’ He used social media on Thursday to express his gratitude.

To everyone at the club – coaches, staff, teammates, and especially the fans – thank you for making these years so special.
“I’ve grown here, both as a player and as a person. Sheffield Wednesday will always be a part of me. Wishing you all the very best for the future. Thank you for everything.”
Gassama followed Anthony Musaba out of the departure gate as the latest exit in what has been a turbulent summer for the Owls, and he’ll be aiming to advance in Scotland now as he begins the next phase of what could be a highly promising career in the sport.
