Spending £50million on Patson Daka, Jannik Vestergaard and Boubakary Soumare placed Leicester City on a direct collision path with Premier League and Championship officials. Not to mention LCFC reportedly frustrating other English Football League and top tier clubs.
The Telegraph’s John Percy has now highlighted when and where Leicester’s hugely significant financial troubles originated. And the cause, as previously noted, is as needless, irritating, reckless, foreboding and catastrophic as the Foxes’ Blue Army supporters likely feared.

All in all, you really have to commend Foxes director of football Jon Rudkin and chairman Aiyawatt ‘Khun Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha on some truly remarkable work. What an absolute fiasco! They, seemingly alongside departing Chief Executive Officer Susan Whelen, have nearly driven this historic organisation and squad into ruin.

First of all, the Midlands-specialist journalist described City’s Profit and Sustainability situation as a “battle for compliance”. He explained that issues commenced in the 2021/22 season. That’s when the previously mentioned trio were unfortunately brought in.

My opinion at the time was this. Upon Daka’s arrival, I was curious to see if the quick striker had composure, quality and resilience. He didn’t.
I was completely opposed to Vestergaard’s signing, especially at the inflated cost. The defender has not proven to be a sensible acquisition!
Soumare is arguably the most gifted of the three. Though he is also frequently the noticeably lethargic one of the group.
To spend approximately £50m on them collectively was sheer footballing madness! And you can thank those arrivals for steering LCFC onto a collision path with the sporting authorities:
