Crystal Palace are on the brink of securing the high-profile signing of Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino for a reported fee of £26m plus add-ons. This represents the club’s most significant acquisition of the transfer window to date, following the addition of reserve goalkeeper Walter Benitez on a free transfer from PSV Eindhoven and the acquisition of left-back Borna Sosa from Ajax for a reported £3m.
Both of those signings are anticipated to provide support for Dean Henderson and Tyrick Mitchell respectively in a demanding season that is likely to involve numerous matches, especially if the Eagles advance in their second leg Conference League play-off against Fredrikstad FK.

El Periódico Mediterráneo claims it was ‘practically impossible’ for the Spaniard to decline Crystal Palace’s offer after the London club agreed to significantly boost his current salary. The Spain international had a contract running until 2027, earning a reported €1.2m per year at Villarreal.
It’s reported that the Yellow Submarine proposed a new contract to persuade him to stay, but he turned it down in favor of a more lucrative deal from Crystal Palace, which is expected to see him earn €4m net annually at Selhurst Park. Cadenaser even suggests the package is quadruple the amount he’s currently earning in Spain.
What can Crystal Palace expect from Yeremy Pino?
Yeremy Pino is already a 15-time Spanish international, a Nations League champion, and a Europa League winner. He’s described by London World’s Jamie Kemble as an ‘absolute bargain’ and a player with exceptional technical skill.
He’s worked under several elite managers at Villarreal and has remained a favorite with each, demonstrating an ability to adapt effortlessly to various tactical setups. He contributes defensively and has a knack for scoring, with 22 goals in 170 matches for Villarreal, along with 23 assists across all competitions.
Last season was his most effective in terms of overall goal contributions in the league, with 11, though there’s no question that he has the potential to elevate his finishing to another level.
Pino has yet to complete his transfer to Palace, but if everything proceeds as planned, he could be included in the matchday squad for the away trip to Aston Villa on Sunday 31 August.
