Although the East Midlands club have now reportedly targeted a seasoned player who could be perfect for King Power Stadium. City are said to have extended a contract offer to a former top-flight veteran, with a transfer apparently imminent.
Who is this mystery LCFC target? Is he a viable and practical option for the financially constrained Foxes? And what is our assessment of him?
What the Foxes require:
It could be argued that we don’t need further additions in the central midfield department. However, Oliver Skipp is the only senior member of that group who is fully expected to stay a Fox for the season.
This means that any (or more than one) of Boubakary Soumare, Wilfred Ndidi, or Harry Winks could depart Filbert Way this summer, potentially creating one or two vacancies. The latest reported developments support this possibility.

Leicester are reportedly on the cusp of finalizing what has been described as a “massive deal” for former Burnley standout Brownhill. Is he an improvement over any of the previously mentioned Foxes with uncertain futures? Not at first glance.
However, Brownhill offers something distinct compared to the existing three LCFC players who might leave: dynamism. The 29-year-old is relentless, reminiscent of a prime Ndidi. The former can also contribute goals, having scored 18 in total in the Premier League.
Clearly, that achievement is something the Nigerian, Winks, and Soumare struggle to accomplish consistently. Additionally, Brownhill’s salary would likely be more affordable. So, how close are City to securing him?
