There were numerous departures on Filbert Way over the past few months. Notable events kicked off the summer, with Jamie Vardy, Daniel Iversen, and Danny Ward leaving swiftly.
Then activity slowed at King Power Stadium for a considerable period. Eventually, Leicester City secured a signing—but it wasn’t an addition that ignited the Championship. LCFC did, however, bring in an experienced and cost-effective goalkeeper to Marti Cifuentes’ lineup.
The stream of outgoing Foxes resumed around that time as well. City began to offload overvalued individuals for decent funds: James Justin was one of those specific departures.
Regrettably, the LCFC leadership then sanctioned a couple of tougher-to-accept exits. The ownership apparently and reportedly did this to balance their finances and ease Profit and Sustainability concerns moving forward.
The Blue Army fan base didn’t want to see Mads Hermansen, a skilled and Premier League-caliber goalkeeper, depart. Yet the Dane eventually joined EPL side West Ham United. Bilal was the other standout who exited; his transfer to VfB Stuttgart wasn’t seamless due to his immaturity. But we press on.
While supporters likely now expect the squad to be set, a surprise might be looming. That’s because players can still leave even though the Foxes can no longer fund signings. And this prominent Leicester player may yet depart with a transfer rumored.
High profile Leicester City player Wout Faes may still get transfer out:
As Leicester Mercury writer Jordan Blackwell accurately noted recently, ‘the drama isn’t over at Leicester yet’. Faes remains on the table.
The Belgian media believe the center back has been granted time off National Team duties to finalize a move. His unconventional international manager certainly wants Faes to leave City:

I would be shocked if LCFC permitted his exit before January. Wolfsburg, Besiktas, and Lille were said to be interested parties.
