According to a report originating from the United Kingdom (though it was somewhat difficult to trace this seemingly fresh and lesser-known source of insider sports updates), Leicester City Football Club are reportedly planning to sell in January.
That’s when the winter transfer window will reopen for clubs looking to complete new deals. Hopefully, LCFC are finally getting their financial situation under control!
The East Midlands club’s hierarchy are quite clearly still working to balance the accounts — as well as trying to give themselves flexibility and the capability to recruit players more freely once again.
And I have a strong hunch that Leicester’s Blue Army faithful will support this particular sale. We’ll disclose the player involved and share our take on the potential £10 million move shortly.
One factor that makes this possible deal both necessary and realistic is the fact that the midfielder’s contract is quickly running down. Something must be resolved by June, as watching valuable or semi-important players walk away for nothing is a bitter pill for fans to swallow.
Fortunately, it’s reported that LCFC plan to “strengthen the squad with the proceeds” — exactly what supporters want to hear! Could City sell to Sevilla, Roma, or Monaco? Time will tell.
Leicester City reportedly set £10 million asking price for midfielder Boubakary Soumaré with Sevilla, Roma, and Monaco keeping tabs:

Soumaré is a divisive figure in my view. On his day, he’s looked like the complete package. But on other occasions, he’s allowed games — and dangerous opponents — to drift past him with little resistance.
His desire and dedication are what raise questions, not his skill or physical presence. So I wouldn’t lose sleep if the Frenchman moves on; we already have solid options, replacements, and emerging talents such as Sammy Braybrooke.
Below is the report concerning the 26-year-old. I imagine City would seriously consider a £10 million offer. Though the source is unfamiliar, we’ll have to wait and see if the rumour gains credibility.

“Exclusive: Leicester City Set to Offload Boubakary Soumaré in January
Leicester City are set to offload French midfielder Boubakary Soumare in January for around £10 million before his contract expires in June. The club aims to strengthen the squad with the proceeds. Soumare, now in his fifth year at the club, has fallen down the pecking order after their relegation. Sevilla, Roma, and Monaco are interested in signing him.” – [SportsBoom]
