Liverpool ace Harvey Elliott has surfaced as one of the primary options for Nottingham Forest should Morgan Gibbs-White depart the club.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn head scout Mick Brown, who remains highly connected within the sport, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Forest could pursue the move using proceeds from a potential Gibbs-White transfer.
While the 22-year-old isn’t viewed as a direct substitute for Gibbs-White, his exit would create space for Forest to recruit a fresh attack-oriented midfielder.
This follows Football Insider’s earlier revelation that Gibbs-White is keen on a switch to Man City, with Forest potentially unable to retain him at the City Ground.
Consequently, they’ve shifted their focus to the transfer market in preparation for possibly losing their key man ahead of next season’s European campaign.
Meanwhile, Football Insider also exclusively revealed that Forest have entered the competition for Elliott alongside clubs such as Wolves, Bournemouth, and Newcastle United.

Brown told Football Insider that Elliott is feeling unsettled at Liverpool due to limited minutes since Arne Slot took over last summer.
The veteran scout, who brings deep expertise in top-level player recruitment after more than ten years at Man United during their dominant era, maintained that a move to Forest could work out well for both parties.
“Harvey Elliott is a very talented player,” he told Football Insider.
“I think Forest would be a very good move for him and both parties would benefit from that.
“But if it’s a like-for-like replacement for Gibbs-White they want, they’ll have to look elsewhere.
“He’s not a box-to-box type player who’s going to be putting tackles in and then bringing the ball forwards to drag his team up the pitch.
“It’s not a case of: Gibbs-White is gone, let’s bring in somebody who does exactly what he does.
“You have to evaluate what he’s good at and what he would bring to the team compared to what they might be missing if Gibbs-White leaves.
“Then, if Elliott the one they want to go for, the money from his sale would allow them to make that move.
“I think Elliott would do well at Forest and he is one they’ve been looking at.
“He’s a very good footballer and he’s got a lot to give any team, so it’s no surprise there’s interest.”

Football Insider disclosed on 8 May that Forest are targeting Ipswich sensation Liam Delap to add depth and competition for Chris Wood next season.
The 22-year-old has a relegation release clause in his Ipswich deal reportedly valued at £30million and is tipped for an immediate Premier League return.
This follows Football Insider’s initial report in February revealing that Man United and Chelsea are both keen on signing Delap, with numerous top clubs monitoring his development.
