DONE DEAL — Crystal Palace have now sealed transfer deal for Top-class talented star subject to FA, EFL and Premier League clearance

Coventry City are pleased to confirm the arrival of Romain Esse from Premier League outfit Crystal Palace on a season-long loan, subject to approval from the FA, EFL and Premier League.

The 20-year-old linked up with the Eagles last January and found the net with his very first touch for the club against Brentford.

He has featured 16 times overall for Oliver Glasner’s side, including three outings in the UEFA Conference League.

Esse first attracted Palace’s attention through his impressive displays for Millwall in the Championship.

A product of the club’s academy system, he made his senior bow for the Lions in December 2022, aged just 17.

He went on to register 66 appearances for Millwall, scoring seven goals, with his eye-catching performances sealing a move to the Premier League.

After completing his switch to the Sky Blues, Esse said: “I’m delighted to join Coventry City.

“I’m excited to express myself on the pitch and help us fight for our goal.

“I look forward to meeting the boys, the Coventry supporters and I can’t wait to get started.”

Esse completed his move from Millwall to Palace in January last year and has since featured 17 times across all competitions in red and blue.

He memorably scored on his debut against Brentford at Selhurst Park and also made two appearances during last season’s triumphant FA Cup run.

He will now spend the second half of the 2025/26 campaign with Coventry, with Frank Lampard’s Sky Blues currently sitting top of the Championship, six points clear of Middlesbrough.

Everyone at the club would like to wish Romain the very best during his loan spell.
