DEAL DONE — Leicester City officially announce surprise transfer as statement made

Leicester City have finalised an agreement to send Kian Pennant out on loan for the very first time in his senior career.

The 21-year-old has joined National League side Gateshead for the next month, with the deal officially announced on Friday afternoon.

The Foxes issued a statement confirming the move:


“Talented young Development Squad forward Kian Pennant will spend the next month on loan with National League side Gateshead, subject to league approval.

“The 21-year-old Leicester native, recognised for his exceptional speed and strong left foot, has been part of our Academy Pathway since Under-9s level and has impressed consistently across our youth categories.

“His progression will now continue with Gateshead, who are next in action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Aveley for an Emirates FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round fixture, before facing Brackley in league competition a week later.”

Pennant was among 11 Leicester youngsters to sign professional contracts during the summer of 2024.

So far this campaign, he has featured in the Premier League International Cup with the U21s, where he found the net against Juventus’ youth side.
