CRYSTAL PALACE LINING UP SHOCK MOVE FOR ‘UNBELIEVABLE’ ENGLISH MASTER MIND AS OLIVER GLASNER EXIT LOOMS AND FANS BRACE FOR SEISMIC MANAGERIAL SHAKE-UP

Crystal Palace have identified Strasbourg head coach Liam Rosenior as one of three managerial candidates they are weighing up as a potential successor to Oliver Glasner, should they fail to secure the Austrian’s signature on a new deal, GIVEMESPORT understands.

The Eagles have reached new heights since appointing Glasner. The 49-year-old has already delivered two trophies, bringing an end to a long wait for silverware, while also guiding Palace into the Europa Conference League this campaign.

Palace’s progress under Glasner has not gone unnoticed, with his work attracting attention from elsewhere, prompting the club to push hard for an extension to his current contract.

Crystal Palace targeting Strasbourg boss Liam Rosenior:

GIVEMESPORT sources indicate that Rosenior is among the options being assessed internally if Palace are unable to persuade Glasner to commit his future to Selhurst Park. He is joined on the shortlist by Rayo Vallecano manager Íñigo Pérez and Getafe boss José Bordalás.

Rosenior has been discussed behind the scenes and is viewed as an appealing candidate due to his tactical approach, which closely mirrors Glasner’s system.

However, any move for the Englishman would be far from straightforward. Strasbourg’s owners, BlueCo — who also control Chelsea — have previously rejected interest in Rosenior, suggesting Palace would face stiff resistance if they formalised their interest. Notably, Rosenior and Glasner crossed paths earlier this season, with Strasbourg edging out Palace 2-1 on that occasion.

Palace still hopeful of keeping Glasner:

Despite exploring alternatives, Palace remain keen to retain Glasner, GIVEMESPORT understands, although the manager has so far been hesitant to put pen to paper on a new contract.

Given his status as one of the most successful managers in the club’s modern era, it is no surprise that Palace are eager to prolong his stay and ward off potential suitors.

Drawing up contingency plans is viewed as sensible succession planning by the Eagles, ensuring they are not caught off guard should Glasner decide to walk away. Rosenior would represent an ambitious and exciting option, but Palace are aware that convincing both BlueCo and Strasbourg to sanction a departure would be a significant challenge.
