    Leicester City’s 2024/25 season has been a disaster, and one of their former players isn’t faring much better.

    The Foxes saw significant squad changes during the 2024 summer transfer window, with several players coming and going.

    Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea following his high-profile summer move.

    Meanwhile, Marc Albrighton called time on his playing career after a decade at the King Power Stadium.

    Tom Cannon has also had a rough start at Sheffield United since making a £10m switch in January, failing to impress at his new club.

    But he’s not the only ex-Leicester striker who has been far from his best since leaving the King Power in the past year.

    Kelechi Iheanacho made a move to Spain, joining La Liga side Sevilla on a free transfer in July 2024.

    However, he managed just nine league appearances in the first half of the 2024/25 season and failed to find the net, leading to a loan move to Middlesbrough for the rest of the campaign.

    Since arriving on Teesside, Iheanacho has faced criticism from Boro fans over his performances and inability to fill the void left by Emmanuel Latte Lath.

    The 28-year-old started in losses against Sheffield United, Watford, and Bristol City but was dropped by manager Michael Carrick following below-par displays. He was left out of the squad for Middlesbrough’s 3-1 victory over Stoke City on Tuesday night.

    To make matters worse, OwnGoalNigeria has reported that he has also been left out of Nigeria’s squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers in mid-March.

    Kelechi Iheanacho’s Leicester City career

    Iheanacho arrived at Leicester in 2017 from Manchester City in a £25m deal.

    During his time at the club, he won the FA Cup, Community Shield, and helped the team secure promotion from the Championship.

    In total, he made 232 appearances, netted 61 goals, and provided 34 assists in a Leicester shirt.

    Reflecting on his 2024 departure, Iheanacho cited limited playing time in the 2023/24 season as a key factor behind his decision to leave.
