NafisaLeeds United supporters have every reason to keep a close eye on the coming days after fresh speculation reignited hopes that one of Daniel Farke’s long-standing transfer targets could finally be heading to Elland Road.
For well over a year, the Brazilian winger has remained a name that refuses to disappear from Leeds’ shortlist.
The Whites pushed incredibly hard to sign him last summer, only to watch the move slip away at the final hurdle when the player opted for Champions League football instead.
Many believed that chapter had closed for good.
Now, however, a series of intriguing developments has sent Leeds fans into overdrive once again.
With the transfer window entering its decisive stages and Leeds still searching for another game-changing attacker, social media has exploded after two separate events appeared to point in the same direction.
The first came from the player’s partner, who posted an emotional Instagram story featuring the city of Marseille alongside the caption:

The message was quickly interpreted by many supporters as a possible farewell to the French city.
Adding even more fuel to the speculation, flight-tracking enthusiasts noticed a private jet scheduled to travel from Rotterdam—where Marseille have been conducting part of their preparations—to Leeds.
There is no confirmed evidence linking the flight to Paixão or any transfer activity, but the timing has inevitably sparked intense discussion among Leeds supporters online.
Behind the scenes, there may also be genuine reasons why optimism is growing.
Last summer, Leeds came remarkably close to signing Igor Paixão from Feyenoord. Reports at the time claimed an agreement worth around €35 million had been reached with the Dutch club, while Daniel Farke and senior figures at Elland Road personally tried to convince the winger to choose Yorkshire.
Instead, Paixão completed a move to Marseille, attracted by the opportunity to play Champions League football.
Twelve months later, circumstances have changed considerably.
Marseille are reportedly looking to balance their finances this summer and are believed to be willing to consider offers in the region of £29 million to £35 million for the Brazilian.
That valuation has once again placed Leeds on alert.
The 26-year-old enjoyed an impressive first season in France, contributing 12 goals and seven assists across all competitions while showcasing the direct running, creativity and eye for goal that originally convinced Leeds to pursue him.
Those qualities remain exactly what Farke is looking to add to his squad.
A right-footed winger who thrives cutting inside from the left, Paixão would provide the kind of attacking spark capable of transforming Leeds’ front line and easing some of the creative burden on the club’s current options.
For now, there is no official confirmation that Leeds have agreed a deal or that the player is travelling to England.
