Although Newcastle United monitored his situation earlier in the summer, their interest cooled once it became apparent Trafford had set his sights firmly on Elland Road.
Last season proved to be a frustrating one for the 23-year-old at Manchester City.
He featured 17 times across all competitions, making just four Premier League starts, while keeping one clean sheet. Nevertheless, Trafford still collected FA Cup and Carabao Cup winners’ medals and continued his development under Pep Guardiola after returning from Burnley.

The club’s need for reinforcements between the posts became increasingly urgent after Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow both departed, leaving Lucas Perri as the only experienced senior goalkeeper. Even Perri now appears likely to leave, with Torino pushing to complete a move for the Brazilian.

However, those issues have not prevented Leeds from pushing ahead with what they believe is a transformational signing.
