EXCLUSIVE — Fabrizio Romano confirms Rangers have reached agreement to SIGN Top-class winger – big money move to be completed this week as everything has been ironed out with club!

Derek McInnes has made no secret of the fact that Rangers are far from finished in the transfer market, and after weeks of frustration, it finally looks like the Ibrox boss is about to get exactly what he has been asking for.

The Light Blues have spent much of the summer rebuilding the squad, but one position has continued to dominate discussions behind the scenes.

Following the opening-day draw with Dundee United, McInnes openly admitted his side still lacked quality and creativity in wide areas, insisting fresh additions were urgently needed before the season gathers pace.

Supporters have watched a string of names come and go in the rumour mill. Former Rangers favourite Vaclav Cerny was heavily linked with a return, but the Czech winger is not expected to leave Besiktas. Tottenham youngster Mikey Moore also emerged as a target before his expected move to Germany with FC Köln.

Interest has also remained in Frosinone attacker Fares Ghedjemis, with Rangers still believed to be keen on adding more than one winger before the transfer window closes.

Now, though, it appears the Ibrox club have finally landed their man.

According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Rangers have reached a full agreement with Hannover for Japanese winger Daisuke Yokota, with the 26-year-old now set to travel to Scotland to complete his medical before signing a long-term contract at Ibrox.

The report states Rangers will pay between €3 million and €3.5 million, with additional performance-related bonuses and a sell-on clause included as part of the agreement.

Yokota spent last season with Hannover after initially arriving on loan from Gent. His performances convinced the German club to activate the permanent option in his deal, but he now looks set for another move just months later as Rangers step in to secure his signature.

The Japanese attacker featured regularly in the 2. Bundesliga and has built up a wealth of experience across Europe after spells in Germany, Latvia, Poland and Belgium. A successful loan stint with Kaiserslautern also helped establish his reputation before Hannover moved to sign him permanently.

Should the medical go as planned, Yokota will become another major addition to McInnes’ growing squad as Rangers continue their aggressive summer rebuild.

With more signings still expected before the transfer deadline, the arrival of Yokota could be just the beginning of another busy week at Ibrox as McInnes looks to assemble a squad capable of mounting a serious challenge this season.
