The summer rebuild is already shaping up to be one of the most important in recent memory. With expectations soaring and pressure mounting to challenge Celtic once again, every recruitment decision will come under heavy scrutiny from both supporters and club officials.
One area likely to receive special attention is the wide attacking department. Modern football increasingly demands productivity from wide players, and Rangers know they must find attackers capable of delivering goals and assists on a regular basis if they are to compete for major honours next season.

Mikey Moore and Andreas Skov Olsen were both signed on loan last season but have since returned to Tottenham Hotspur and Wolfsburg respectively after Danny Rohl guided the side to a third-place finish in the Scottish Premiership.
The Light Blues are already assessing a Premiership standout as a possible addition to strengthen their forward line, with reported interest in Motherwell attacker Elijah Just.
Rangers are expected to intensify their pursuit of the £3m-rated forward, who is capable of operating in any of the three attacking positions behind a central striker, over the coming weeks.
The 26-year-old winger recorded seven goals and seven assists for Motherwell in the Premiership during his debut season in Scottish football.
Rangers Learn Potential Fee For International Winger
The club may need to act swiftly if they wish to secure a deal for the New Zealand international after he netted twice against Iran in his nation’s opening World Cup group-stage encounter.
However, Rangers have also been linked with a move for a player who could represent an even stronger addition than Just during the current transfer window.
According to former Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, Glasgow Rangers could secure a cut-price agreement to bring Vaclav Cerny back from Besiktas this summer.
It was recently suggested that the Light Blues are exploring a move to re-sign the Czechia international just 12 months after Besiktas paid £6m to acquire him from Wolfsburg following his successful loan spell at Ibrox.
Speaking to Football Insider, Wyness said: “I think they’ll get it done at about £5m, but I do think he’s exactly the type of player they need. He’s got the experience.
“McInnes will want that Premiership experience as well. He’s a quality player and played well for Rangers. There’ll probably be some add-ons, but I think they can get it done at £5m, and it’s a very good move if they can get Cerny in.”

If Rangers can complete a deal worth around £5m, the club may be better served prioritising a move for Cerny rather than investing in Just to strengthen McInnes’ right-wing options.
Just impressed with his displays for Motherwell and contributed 14 goals and assists combined last season, but performing at Fir Park is vastly different from carrying expectations at Ibrox, where winning every week is considered the minimum requirement.
Cerny, by contrast, has already proven he can handle the demands of Rangers. During his previous spell in Glasgow, the winger featured 52 times across all competitions while on loan from Wolfsburg during the 2024/25 campaign.
The Czech international produced more combined goals and assists in the Premiership with Rangers than Just managed for Motherwell last season.
Those numbers indicate that the left-footed wide man could offer a greater attacking threat while arriving as a player who has already demonstrated his quality in a Rangers shirt.
A return to Ibrox would also allow Cerny to settle immediately. He already understands the expectations, the pressure that comes with representing the club, and many of the players currently in the squad.
Meanwhile, Just would face a significant adjustment period and may require time before reaching his best level in a new environment.
Beyond his previous success in Scotland, Cerny also enjoyed a productive campaign with Besiktas in 2025/26, registering six goals and eight assists across all competitions.
Just has never surpassed seven goals or seven assists in a league season throughout his professional career, while Cerny has already delivered double-digit goal returns in Scotland and recorded eight assists in the Turkish Super Lig.
For those reasons, Rangers may ultimately find greater value in pursuing a reunion with the Czechia international rather than pushing ahead with a move for the Motherwell attacker as McInnes continues reshaping his squad for the challenges ahead.
