While the Bhoys have linked with a number of options to replace the Dane, 26-year-old De Busser appears to have given the nod to a switch to Scotland.
Indeed, the Belgian stopper has admitted that he is ready to depart current club Go Ahead Eagles ahead of next season, and Football Insider reports that Celtic ‘have him on their list as a strong option to bolster their goalkeeping department’.
De Busser will be out of contract at the Dutch club in June 2027, and the report states that ‘it would only take Celtic around £2million to take him to Glasgow this summer’.
That kind of fee is unlikely to present any problems for Celtic, particularly with the financial rewards of European football once again on the horizon.

De Busser has emerged as a serious contender to become Celtic’s new first-choice goalkeeper next season, with the club’s recruitment department believed to be impressed by both his experience and recent performances.
The Belgian has spent the last two seasons competing in the Dutch Eredivisie and established himself as one of the division’s standout goalkeepers.
Only one goalkeeper managed to record more clean sheets than De Busser’s tally of nine during the 2025/26 campaign.
His numbers become even more impressive when looking deeper into the statistics.
According to the report, De Busser recorded the highest goals-prevented figure in the Eredivisie at 10, highlighting his ability to make decisive saves and keep his side in matches.
He also played an important role during Go Ahead Eagles’ Europa League journey, gaining valuable experience on the continental stage.
Those performances have reportedly convinced Celtic that he possesses the quality required to step into one of the most demanding goalkeeping roles in Scottish football.
