NafisaBojan Miovski’s situation at Rangers has become a major talking point behind the scenes as Danny Rohl continues to reshape his squad and make ruthless decisions about underperforming players.
The striker arrived at Ibrox last summer in a £4.2million move that came with big expectations, with many believing he would immediately strengthen the Light Blues’ attack. However, things have not gone to plan, with the forward managing just seven league goals and struggling to secure a consistent starting role.
Competition in the attacking department has also increased following fresh additions, meaning opportunities have become even harder to come by. With multiple forwards now fighting for minutes, the pressure on fringe performers has only intensified.
As a result, internal discussions have reportedly shifted towards trimming the squad, with growing belief that certain players are no longer part of Rohl’s long-term plans at Ibrox.
According to former Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Miovski is now the most likely player to be moved on following Rangers’ latest attacking reinforcement.
The arrival of Lawrence Shankland from Hearts has further crowded the forward line, leaving four senior strikers competing for places and forcing the manager into difficult decisions.
Wyness believes Miovski is the one most at risk, suggesting the North Macedonian has failed to deliver on expectations since his big-money transfer.
“I think Chermiti will benefit from having Shankland, playing off Shankland would be really good for him,” Wyness said.
“I think the one who’s really at risk is Mivovski. He could certainly be out the door, and I think he’d be one of those who would be on the list to sell. He hasn’t performed to expectations. He did quite well at Aberdeen, but he hasn’t done it for Rangers that much.
“And so overall, I think we’re looking at Chermiti and Shankland being the attacking force, which would be a very interesting forward duo for Rangers.”
Miovski’s struggles to adapt and produce consistent returns have left his future hanging in the balance, with Rangers now reportedly open to offers as they look to recover value from their investment.
With Rohl aiming to build a more efficient and reliable squad, the forward appears to be one of the clearest candidates for an exit as Ibrox prepares for further summer changes.
