NafisaTony Bloom says Hearts players were at risk amid disorderly scenes at Celtic.
But he believes a painful season finale for the Edinburgh club will ultimately make them stronger.
Bloom has commented on controversial scenes which saw supporters flood onto the pitch as Hearts lost 3-1 at Celtic in the title decider.
The final-day defeat, decided by two late goals, ended title ambitions after they had led for much of the campaign.
Bloom has pledged to challenge the dominance of Celtic and Rangers in Scotland after taking a 29% stake in Hearts.
He was agonisingly close to watching them lift the title in the very first season of his involvement.
Speaking on TalkSPORT, the Albion chairman said: “For anyone involved in Hearts, it was a devastating weekend.
“The last ten days of the season, so much happened.
“However we must look ahead. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
“The Hearts fans are absolutely fantastic and we will be back next season with a bang.
“We want to be competing to win the league every single season that we possibly can.”
Bloom was reluctant to say too much about the end-of-match scenes which angered Hearts, whose players left Parkhead within minutes of full-time still in their kit.
He said: “The final whistle hadn’t gone so no supporters should be on the pitch.
“The Hearts players were in danger. One or two got assaulted.
“It is completely unacceptable behaviour. The authorities will be looking at it
“I don’t want to say anything more about that.
“I just want to say how tremendous the players have been all season long.
“And they were absolutely on the floor, devastated like all of us.
“But we must come back stronger.”
Hearts supporters have embraced Bloom and sing his name to the tune used by their Albion counterparts for Solly March.
Bloom said: “I really appreciate the fans’ sentiment but it is all about the players on the pitch and the support they have given them all season.
“When they travel in their many, many thousands to away games, it is truly amazing to see.
“I really feel for the players and everyone associated with Hearts but, in particular, the fans, who have been so supportive all season long.”
