NafisaSTEVEN McLEAN will be the official in charge of Celtic’s Scottish Cup Final against Dunfermline at Hampden on Saturday.
The experienced referee will be supported by Frank Connor and Scott Anderson on the sidelines.
Matthew MacDermid will be operating in the VAR room with Gary Hilland acting as his assistant.
McLean previously took centre stage during the VAR red card controversy when Auston Trusty was sent off in the champions’ 2-2 draw with Hearts at Tynecastle in January.
The referee initially showed a yellow card to the USA international central defender after an incident with Landry Kabore in the 73rd minute with the visitors leading 2-1.
The home players surrounded McLean as they called for a stronger punishment and John Beaton, watching on the screens, instructed a pitchside review of the incident.
After checking his monitor, the referee returned to the field, overturned the yellow card and issued a red to dismiss an stunned Trusty.
Derek McInnes’ side levelled through Claudio Braga in the 87th minute to deny the Hoops a vital win.
Fans at Hampden will be hoping there is no need for MacDermid to intervene in the Scottish Cup final spectacle.
