Leicester City will likely never be able to call upon their most treasured player of all time again. The former Fleetwood Town, Leicester City and England star is now featuring in Italy’s Serie A.
And, notably, legendary ex-Fox Jamie Vardy made his Cremonese bow on Monday evening. Though the seasoned striker did not start at the Marcantonio Bentegodi stadium against Hellas Verona.
The Yellow and Blues were reported to be ‘set up well’ for the visit of Vards and his new Cremo colleagues. The 38-year-old was brought into the clash as a replacement around the hour mark of the encounter. But he failed to get himself on the score sheet, as he did so often for the Foxes and across Premier League arenas.
In fact, Vardy didn’t have a particularly strong outing by most accounts. Even though his latest team, the Grey and Reds, were playing to his strengths, the Englishman struggled to make a lasting impression in a first appearance in mainland Europe.
Although, he has plenty of opportunities left with 35 matches remaining in the league. Nonetheless, JV9 (or JV10, now) was ultimately criticised by Italian media after a debut, underwhelming Cremonese showing. Let’s read what was said of him.
