A group from Turkish powerhouse Besiktas has ‘traveled to England to discuss transfer details’ with Leicester City as they attempt to sign Wout Faes.
The Black Eagles are eager to make additions in the remaining days of the Turkish transfer window, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer aiming to bolster the squad.
A new centre-back is on the Norwegian’s priority list, and Besiktas have been working to bring Faes to him.
They recently made an inquiry to Leicester to explore a deal to bring Faes to Istanbul in the coming days.
Now Besiktas are escalating their efforts, and according to Turkish daily Takvim, a delegation from the club has journeyed to England.
They will ‘discuss transfer details’ with Leicester as they seek to secure an agreement for the Belgian.
Besiktas have already submitted a contract offer to the defender, which includes a three-year deal with an option for an additional year.
Joining Besiktas in the Turkish top flight rather than playing in the Championship with Leicester is something likely to attract the 27-year-old.
Faes has featured in all three of Leicester’s Championship matches so far and even played the full 90 minutes in their EFL Cup loss to Huddersfield Town.
He has played his football in England, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, and could soon add Turkey to his resume.
Faes has drawn attention in recent windows, with Galatasaray inquiring about him during the winter window earlier this year.
And Tottenham Hotspur considered a move for Faes in the summer transfer window of 2023, with his profile admired in north London.
A transfer to Besiktas would allow Faes to reunite with Wilfred Ndidi, who switched from Leicester to the Turkish club earlier this summer.
Tammy Abraham is also part of the roster at the Black Eagles.
