Norwich City have appointed former Rangers boss Philippe Clement as their new manager.
The confirmation arrived on Tuesday morning, just nine days after they sacked Liam Manning following an 11-match winless run, which included eight straight home defeats and left them sitting second from bottom in the Championship.
The latest of those losses came in the final outing before the current break, where Jordan James netted a last-minute winner to hand Leicester City a 2-1 triumph and bring Manning’s tenure at Carrow Road to an end.
Clement’s arrival is the first among four clubs still waiting to finalise their new managerial appointments as the international break winds down.
Swansea continue their search for a new head coach after Alan Sheehan’s exit, while Middlesbrough are reportedly close to naming Kim Hellberg as Rob Edwards’ replacement, edging Swansea to their preferred candidate.
Elsewhere, Tonda Eckert is expected to oversee Southampton’s next three Championship fixtures and may yet become Will Still’s long-term successor.
For Norwich, they’ve now entrusted the role to Clement, who left Ibrox in February.
The 51-year-old guided Rangers to a Scottish Cup win in 2024 but departed with the side 13 points behind soon-to-be champions Celtic, despite progressing to the Europa League knockout rounds.
With a 64 per cent win rate and three Belgian league titles on his résumé — two with Club Brugge and one with Genk — Clement boasts an impressive pedigree.
Although Norwich were also linked with Jon Dahl Tomasson and Gary O’Neil, Clement has taken charge ahead of this weekend’s clash with Birmingham City.
The Canaries are set to travel to the King Power Stadium on Saturday, February 28, 2026. At present, City sit 11 places and 12 points clear.
