MEDICAL NOT A PROBLEM, CONTRACT SIGNED — Leicester City Agree Contract with Sensational Player until 2029

Leicester City have revealed that academy product Luke Thomas has prolonged his stay with the Foxes until 2029.

Thomas, who made his senior bow in the Premier League back in 2020, has been a consistent figure for the club this season and remains Marti Cifuentes’ preferred option at left-back.

The 24-year-old’s updated deal was officially confirmed on Friday, but the reaction to the announcement has been divided.

Having a homegrown player commit his future is usually a reason for optimism, yet not everyone appeared enthusiastic.

@kingpowers said: “We never ever learn.”

@ayomideakintond replied: “Solid defender.”

@HaIfTurn stated: “A terrible player given a four-year contract, we really have fallen far.”

@lcfcok said: “Great news.”

@_paigelcoe stated: “We’ll never learn will we.”

Luke Thomas’ first words after signing new Leicester contract:

Speaking to the club’s media team after finalising the agreement, the Foxes full-back told the club website: “I’m really happy to sign a new deal at this club.

“It’s a club that I’ve been at since I was very young, so I’m happy to have another four years here and hopefully more to come after that.

“It’s the team I’ve supported since I was born, really. My dad has brought me up to support Leicester City.”
