According to a report, and considering what is already known about the situation, Leicester City Football Club are likely preparing to offload a surplus player.
It is further suggested that the increasingly under-pressure LCFC boss Marti Cifuentes is not particularly fond of the player, or that the Catalan coach simply doesn’t want the Foxes midfielder at all. Several elements are influencing this matter, as you may already know.
Firstly, the club’s owners, The King Power International Group, are facing a struggling business climate in Asia. Secondly, as a consequence, the East Midlands side are operating with limited financial resources. Not to mention the reported monitoring or restrictions imposed by the watchful English Football League.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the Leicester player in question has a contract nearing its expiration date. His current deal runs until July 2026, meaning the club must make a decision soon regarding a renewal.
Alternatively, the Leicestershire outfit might be compelled to let their asset go for nothing. However, the professional, who earns a £4.3million annual salary, still holds a measure of market value.
