Jordan James says he can hardly believe the incredible start he has made to life on loan at Leicester City.
The 21-year-old completed a transfer deadline day switch to the Foxes from French Ligue 1 outfit Rennes and has swiftly become a fan favourite at the King Power Stadium.
He opened his tally in the 1-1 draw against Wrexham last week, before netting one and assisting another in Leicester’s 3-1 win over Swansea, the Championship’s other Welsh side, on Saturday.
After helping secure the victory that lifted Leicester up to third in the standings, James’ attention turned to international duty with Wales ahead of Thursday’s friendly clash against England at Wembley.
“I don’t think you could have started in a better way than I have started,” he told BBC Radio Leicester.
“I genuinely can’t believe what is going on at the moment.
“When I hear the fans singing my name, it’s seriously what you dream of.”
In his opening month with Leicester, James has already scored more goals than he managed throughout his entire debut season with Rennes last year.
He appeared 24 times in all competitions for the French top-tier club, having departed his boyhood side Birmingham City for Brittany’s capital in August 2024.
“It was a difficult season last year for me, I didn’t play as much football as I wanted to,” James reflected.
But he was quick to stress that he has rediscovered his rhythm upon returning to English football and the Championship with a Leicester team tipped to compete for promotion back to the Premier League.
“I’ve started this season unbelievably, and I feel fit, strong and confident,” James said.
“I’m just riding the wave and seeing where it takes me.”
