Rangers have surfaced as the leading contenders to secure Tottenham starlet Mikey Moore on loan this summer, according to journalist Matt Law.
The Scottish giants are reportedly viewed as the ‘most likely’ destination for the ‘outstanding’ 17-year-old winger, despite attention from several English clubs, particularly in the Championship.
Moore is poised to depart Tottenham in pursuit of consistent playing time next season, following a breakthrough campaign in North London where he made 19 first-team appearances.
He enjoyed a promising debut season under Ange Postecoglou, starting three Premier League matches, but faces a fierce competition for minutes in Thomas Frank’s squad next term.
While he began Frank’s first match as Tottenham head coach, playing the initial 45 minutes against Reading on Sunday, Moore is up against the likes of Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, Son Heung-min, Richarlison, and Wilson Odobert in the struggle for regular minutes next season.
Spurs also signed Mathys Tel on a permanent deal from Bayern Munich last month and welcomed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham, who is also capable of playing on the flanks.
This further diminishes Moore’s prospects of regular action under Frank, who is expected to have the final say on the 17-year-old’s summer exit.
