Leicester City are pursuing a last-minute deal to sign Crystal Palace talent Jesurun Rak-Sakyi as a potential replacement for Abdul Fatawu, according to Alan Nixon.
The Foxes have enjoyed a robust start to their Championship season, securing three victories in their first four matches under new manager Marti Cifuentes, with only one new senior addition to their squad – veteran goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
Now, Leicester are aiming to reinforce their attacking line before the Monday deadline and have pinpointed Crystal Palace youngster Rak-Sakyi as a target.

Leicester have witnessed several first-team players leave this season, from iconic striker Jamie Vardy on a free transfer to key figures Wilfred Ndidi, Mads Hermansen, and James Justin.
It’s also anticipated that forward Bilal El Khannouss will exit before the deadline, and there has been significant interest in winger Abdul Fatawu as well, who has begun the season in excellent form with two goals in four appearances.
The Foxes are now showing strong interest in Palace winger Rak-Sakyi, who spent the 2024/25 season on loan with Sheffield United as they narrowly missed promotion, as they seek to enhance their attacking options and brace for further potential departures.
Leicester are currently exploring a loan deal for the 22-year-old, who Dean Holden described as “phenomenal” after managing him during a loan spell with Charlton in 2022/23, but could convert it into a permanent transfer if they secure funds early enough from El Khannouss’ imminent exit.
Southampton also expressed interest in the player earlier in the summer, as did Rangers, but both clubs ultimately chose different targets, and Leicester are now viewed as the leading contenders for his signature should he depart Selhurst Park. Other clubs are also interested, though their identities remain undisclosed.
Rak-Sakyi has yet to play for the Eagles under Oliver Glasner this season as the club prepares for a Europa Conference League campaign, and a departure is expected before the window closes.
