The Wilfried Nancy chapter has come to an end, and Celtic supporters are more than relieved.
Celtic’s players remained silent following Nancy’s dismissal on Monday, despite it being common for squads to react to such news on social media.
Instead, the fans heard their response loud and clear on the pitch, as Celtic defeated Dundee United on Saturday, with a much-improved Hyunjun Yang finding the net.
Yang was a regular presence under Nancy, often deployed as a right-sided wing-back, and his comments after the Dundee United victory were particularly eye-catching.

It is worth noting that English is not Yang’s first language, and he is still adapting to speaking and understanding it.
However, speaking on Celtic TV, the South Korean forward said that ‘everyone is together now’ after the win over Dundee United, as Martin O’Neill marked his second return of the season with a victory.
Those words reflect poorly on Nancy because, in truth, things did not appear harmonious during his ill-fated 33-day stint.
“(My best spell here) to score? Yes,” said Yang. “But I couldn’t expect to score because I never score (outside) of the box.
“Amazing game. We are very together now. I think we have to keep doing what we want to do. For sure.”

Interestingly, during Celtic’s 2025 summer transfer window, there were suggestions that Yang could be set to leave Glasgow.
However, a potential switch to Birmingham City failed to materialise, largely because the Hoops were unable to line up a suitable replacement.
Overall, Yang found things difficult under Brendan Rodgers, including last season when Celtic secured the double.
But since Rodgers made his exit, the Korean attacker appears to be rediscovering form that justifies him becoming a consistent starter.
