Leicester have been told that one of their strikers simply isn’t up to the required standard. In my view, this situation could easily be part of a tricky quiz question. I mean, how would anyone guess which of the three senior forwards (a somewhat ironic description) this is about? Quite the puzzle.
Still, this publication has effectively informed the Foxes that their frontman isn’t good enough to make an impact in the Championship. He was initially brought in to light up the Premier League — but our recruitment wasn’t exactly sharp that summer. That should be a big clue for anyone trying to work out who I’m referring to.
Meanwhile, one La Liga side seems to have come up with a rather bold — and frankly improbable — idea to pinch a King Power player. A foolish and probably time-wasting move, if you ask me.
With a player’s contract reportedly running out in the summer, could a club swoop in and secure his signature? Could they even do it for free? I’d like to believe this is just an exaggerated rumour, or gossip invented by someone with little understanding of the English Football League or Leicester City. They might not even grasp what they’re talking about!
Leicester City told striker not good enough
Patson Daka — or “Big Pat,” as I call him — hasn’t managed to hit the standard required on Filbert Way. Clearly, the Championship might be his ceiling; the Zambia international has yet to find the net this season.
“Daka, who earns £75,000 per week according to Capology, is one of many players out of contract over the summer and he remains one of their most saleable assets and so, for a variety of reasons, it is now surely time for Leicester to try and cash in.” – [FLW]
Sadly, this could well be his final opportunity under any City manager. The implication here is that LCFC should offload him while he still holds some market value.
La Liga club make bold move:
Sevilla FC are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Boubakary Soumare at “zero cost” in January. But why on earth would Leicester’s hierarchy let him go for free while he’s still under contract?
“It wouldn’t make sense for Leicester to release Soumaré as he’s started in eight matches this season. There are other clubs [Roma] considering paying a fee in the next window.” – [Sport Witness]
He’ll soon be allowed to negotiate with other clubs — but rest assured, Leicester will either look to secure a transfer fee or convince him to renew.
