Leicester City fans have finally had enough — and the latest target of their fury is none other than one of the club’s so-called untouchables, Abdul Fatawu.
Once seen as the spark that ignited the Foxes’ attack, the Ghanaian winger is now facing intense criticism after an incident involving club captain Ricardo Pereira following the 2-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers.
Supporters spotted what appeared to be a heated exchange between Fatawu and Ricardo at full-time, sparking a wave of online backlash from fans who are now questioning the winger’s attitude and demanding action from manager Marti Cifuentes.
One fan fumed:
“His attitude today was awful, always moaning then arguing with Ricky p after the match.”
Another demanded immediate change:
“If you could bench him for Tuesday that would be much appreciated.”
It didn’t end there. The winger, who has long been viewed as one of Leicester’s most valuable assets, was slammed as:
“One trick pony like so many others…”
and accused of being part of a squad that simply doesn’t care:
“These players don’t give a fuck, it’s blatantly obvious… Tactics don’t suit us either…”
Yet perhaps the most damning verdict of all came from this comment:
“For the vast majority he’s untouchable, the truth is for this season he has been awful.”
For context, Fatawu’s performance against Blackburn was hardly catastrophic — but certainly far from inspiring. According to his match rating from Leicester Mercury:
“He beat his man regularly and found Ricardo’s forward runs well. He did look for through balls when he could, but decision-making with his shots could again be called into question. He barely touched the ball after switching flanks in the second half.”
