Leicester City are reportedly poised to miss out on what might have been their initial signing of 2025/25. The apparent target is said to be considering a move to Rangers of Glasgow instead of joining the King Power.
The transfer window has been open for a considerable time now, even after a short pause for the Club World Cup. Nonetheless, Leicester City have not ventured into the market despite the need to enhance their roster.
Sales have yet to materialize for the East Midlands team as well. Now that manager Marti Cifuentes has arrived, surely some transfers in and out of King Power can be anticipated.
However, the Foxes won’t be securing one seemingly desired individual in particular. The Leicestershire outfit are supposedly set to lose out on a potential first acquisition to Rangers, who are also believed to desire the target.
So which prospect were LCFC pursuing exactly? Was he a fitting suggested addition to the squad? Is he heading to Scotland? And who might City pursue instead?
Leicester City might be about to be outdone for first signing by Rangers:

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi was a previous target for Leicester, according to reports back in 2023. Ultimately, he didn’t join Filbert Way, temporarily transferring to Charlton Athletic from Crystal Palace. Now he is departing the Eagles.
The winger performed admirably on loan at Sheffield United last season. This has apparently rekindled interest from various teams. Among them are LCFC, the Gers, and Southampton.
Rak-Sakyi might have been a suitable pickup for the Foxes, especially in the Championship. Though he is leaning toward a shift to Scotland, as per this article.
