EXCLUSIVE: “It feels surreal to be here, I can’t wait to be involved…” — 23-year old Irish forward with 26 goals last year breaks silence after completing Crystal Palace January transfer move

Crystal Palace Women are pleased to confirm the signing of Kelly Brady, subject to international clearance.

The 23-year-old arrives at Palace on an 18-month contract, set to run until the summer of 2027.

The former Athlone Town forward netted 26 goals for the League of Ireland outfit across all competitions last year, spearheading their charge to a league championship and an FAI Women’s Cup triumph.

Crowning a standout campaign, Brady collected the top individual accolades, securing both the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division Golden Boot Award and the Player of the Year Award.

Her impressive league performances earned her a first call-up to Carla Ward’s Ireland squad last November, where she linked up with Palace teammates Abbie Larkin, Hayley Nolan and Ruesha Littlejohn in the matchday squad for the clash against Hungary.

Brady will be available for selection against Sheffield United on Monday evening.

Manager Jo Potter said: “Kelly is an exciting young talent, and we are very happy to have her here at Palace.

“She’s coming off a great season, and her goalscoring ability is going to be a huge asset for us.”

Speaking about her switch to Palace, Brady said: “It feels surreal to be here, I can’t wait to be involved in the great things the girls have been doing this season.”
