Crystal Palace goalkeeper Owen Goodman is undergoing a medical at Barnsley ahead of a possible loan switch, sources have told Football Insider.
The 22-year-old shot-stopper is now in late-stage discussions with the League One outfit as he seeks regular minutes away from Selhurst Park.
Goodman had been on loan with Huddersfield Town earlier this season but slipped out of the starting line-up before being recalled by Crystal Palace last week.
The keeper was previously sent off against Barnsley earlier in the campaign for a high boot on David McGoldrick during a 3-1 victory over the Terriers.
Barnsley are currently attempting to distance themselves from the relegation places, after a poor run of results saw them drop to 17th in League One.

Prior to his loan spell at Huddersfield Town, Goodman had established himself as a regular starter in League Two.
Crystal Palace loaned the young goalkeeper to Colchester United during the 2023-24 season and to AFC Wimbledon in the 2024-25 campaign, where he was first-choice keeper at both clubs.
While with the Dons, he also played a key role in a promotion push, starting the play-off final as Wimbledon defeated Walsall 1-0.
Now, after limited opportunities at Huddersfield, Goodman will be hoping to cement a starting role at Barnsley.
How good is Goodman? Judging by his statistics for Huddersfield Town this season, the goalkeeper performed reasonably well in League One.
As per Fotmob on 14 January, the 22-year-old averaged 0.43 clean sheets per game with a save success rate of 64.5%.
However, he was also allowing 1.17 goals per match and recorded a goals prevented figure of -1.45.
As a result, there are several areas that will need improvement if Barnsley are to move clear of the relegation battle in the months ahead with Goodman as their first-choice goalkeeper.
Even so, his track record in League Two offers sufficient proof that he is capable of stepping up and delivering if the loan move is finalised.
