Crystal Palace have finalised an agreement with Arsenal on a compensation package for Dan Casey, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Casey has been prolific in front of goal for Arsenal’s youth sides and provides tactical versatility in the attacking third. At just 17, he has already operated across multiple positions, including as an attacking midfielder, on the flanks, and leading the line as a centre-forward.
The youngster was out of contract this summer, but since he came through Arsenal’s academy, Palace were required to pay compensation if they wished to secure his signature.
Palace experienced a challenging summer transfer window, with plenty of speculation surrounding the futures of two of their key players, Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze. Guehi remained at Selhurst Park beyond the deadline after a late move to Liverpool fell through, while Eze completed a switch across London to join Arsenal.

Reporting on X, Romano confirmed that Crystal Palace and Arsenal have agreed on a compensation package for the Eagles to acquire youngster Casey. His medical with Palace is set to take place within the next 24 hours, with the deal now officially agreed.

Casey drew considerable attention over the summer, with GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Romano previously reporting that Arsenal, Crystal Palace, and Norwich City all held discussions regarding a potential move.
The midfielder scored 21 goals for Arsenal’s U18s during the 2024/25 season, including 18 in 21 U18 Premier League matches. He added two more goals in three FA Youth Cup appearances and found the net once in two U18 Premier League Cup games.
Casey can move to Palace outside of a transfer window because he is out of contract, despite the Eagles needing to pay Arsenal to complete the deal.
The young midfielder is unlikely to make an immediate impact for Palace given his age, but he represents an exciting prospect for the future, especially since the club will only be paying a modest fee to bring him in.
