Marco Silva was left irritated with the match officials after Fulham conceded while down to 10 men against Crystal Palace.
Tom Cairney’s brilliant effort secured a point for the Whites, but Silva remained unhappy with the manner of Palace’s opening goal.
Jorge Cuenca was awarded a free-kick after taking an elbow to the face, though the defender was back on his feet just moments later.
Despite that, Cuenca was instructed to remain on the touchline for around 30 seconds — and during that spell Jean-Phillipe Mateta found the net for the hosts.
“Doesn’t make any sense right now, because it happened twice with us in the first half,” said Silva.
“If a player goes down, I think it’s normal, if he feels the arm or the hand in his face I think he’s a normal reaction, you go down. Cuenca was standing up so quick in that moment.
“It has happened too often, not just with us, I’m talking about the refs, they should be with the experience that they have to manage the game in a completely different way in that moment.
“Football matches are 11 versus 11 – not every time to put players out, without a reason. And this afternoon was completely without a reason for Cuenca to be out in that moment.
Kenny Tete was forced off during the second half due to injury, while Josh King was omitted from the matchday squad for the first time this season.
Silva said: “Josh, he felt something two days ago in his knee.
“He trained yesterday, he was in contention. But he was not feeling very confident and well in him, feeling a little bit of pain.
“Probably is going to be a big risk for him to be involved in the game. And let’s see how he’s going to react, if he’s going to be ready for the next ones or not.
“Tete, he felt something in his hamstring. First, the reaction probably is not so serious, but we have to wait some hours, probably one or two days after a scan or exam to see what’s going to happen.”
