Leicester City are embarking on a new chapter as they look to recover from their second relegation to the Championship in just three years. Persistent financial uncertainty has loomed over LCFC, with fears of a potential points deduction still in play.
However, long-awaited clarity seems to be drawing near, as a hearing is scheduled to commence in the coming weeks, with a decision expected later in the campaign. Amid these off-field distractions, Marti Cifuentes is beginning to settle in, working to shape his revamped Leicester squad and guide them back toward stability.
A number of last season’s players have remained following relegation, but several key names departed. Among them was Bilal El Khannouss, despite starting the season with LCFC.
El Khannouss sealed a loan move to Bundesliga side Stuttgart late in the summer transfer window. After a standout start to life in Germany, Stuttgart are reportedly ready to make his move permanent, according to German outlet BILD.
Leicester City have already pocketed a loan fee of around €3.5m from Stuttgart. The deal also includes an €18.5m purchase clause, which the German outfit now intends to trigger.
El Khannouss impressed greatly for LCFC last season, starting this term with two assists in his first three matches. He has maintained that level in Germany, so it’s no shock that Stuttgart want to finalise the transfer.

Operating mostly as an attacking midfielder or on the left flank, El Khannouss made a notable impression, recording three goals and five assists in 36 appearances. It was only natural that he sought a move in the summer.

The duo of Stephy Mavididi and Abdul Fatawu have demonstrated their ability in the pair’s absence. Additionally, the rise of young prodigy Jeremy Monga has helped ease the pressure up front.
Fresh additions Jordan James and Aaron Ramsey were also brought in to fill El Khannouss’ role in midfield. James has already netted two goals in his opening five appearances for Leicester City.
