Leicester City saw Jamie Vardy depart as a free agent at the conclusion of last season.
The Championship club have yet to acquire a new forward this summer, but that could change before the transfer window shuts on Monday.
Leicester have already pinpointed Feyenoord’s Julián Carranza as a target and have taken further steps to secure his signature.
That’s at least what Feyenoord Transfermarkt are reporting, and they posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, to state that the striker’s move to Leicester is ‘happening’.
The Foxes have reached an agreement with the Eredivisie club to sign the 25-year-old on loan with an option to purchase. There’s no mention of the fee required for Martí Cifuentes’ team to make his stay permanent.
It’s further reported that Leicester have also finalized personal terms with the Argentine.
He needs to complete medical examinations and sign the contract for the English club to formalize his loan signing. This is expected to happen soon, as Leicester have until 11pm on Monday to finalize the deal.
Carranza recorded five goals and one assist in 30 matches for Feyenoord last season.
