This latest injury is a blow for Alves, who was hoping to make an impact while away from Leicester. His previous loan to Cardiff City began well but ended on a disappointing note.
At Huddersfield, the attacking midfielder and occasional winger managed just four appearances before the injury struck. Head coach Lee Grant confirmed it is a foot problem.
