Former Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is the second favourite to make a sensational return to Swansea City following the sacking of Alan Sheehan.
Rodgers is priced at 6/1 by bookmakers to take charge of the Swans once more, with the Northern Irishman currently unattached after departing Celtic at the end of last month.
Michael Carrick, who has been without a job since his dismissal by Middlesbrough in the summer, leads the race at 4/1, while former Wolves manager Gary O’Neil shares Rodgers’ 6/1 odds.
Sheehan, a graduate of Leicester’s academy, managed to win just one of his final seven fixtures at the helm, a poor run that saw Swansea drop to 18th place in the Championship standings.
The Irish coach had recently been the frontrunner to become the next Championship manager to lose his job. Liam Manning and Marti Cifuentes had previously topped the bookmakers’ list, with Manning then relieved of his duties at Norwich following a defeat to Leicester on Saturday. However, Swansea’s heavy 4-1 home loss to Ipswich propelled Sheehan ahead of Cifuentes to the top of that list.
Having stepped in as interim boss for a second spell last season, Sheehan successfully guided Swansea to safety, but couldn’t replicate that success in the current campaign.

Leicester, who secured a 3-1 victory away at Swansea last month, are scheduled to host the Welsh side at the King Power Stadium next April.
