“A good appointment” — Marti Cifuentes has just said something that has got Leicester City fans emotional and all agreeing he’s the perfect man for the job – You Won’t Believe What He Said!

Marti Cifuentes’ Leicester City “rebuild” is beginning to take form, but the manager wants to witness more courageous football when club action returns.

The new boss is now 10 matches into his spell across all competitions, with the October international break offering a timely opportunity to evaluate their development.

It’s been a promising start in terms of outcomes, with City positioned third in the Championship, just two points behind the automatic promotion spots. Considering Cifuentes’ late appointment and the limited transfer activity over the summer, collecting 16 points from nine fixtures is a solid return.

However, there remains plenty to refine, particularly in City’s attacking play. Reflecting on the campaign so far, Cifuentes said: “Rebuilding, as I’ve been describing this process as a club, it always takes some time but I know that there are some key elements on this that are very clear to me.

“First of all, the identity and how we want to play, there is still a lot of room to improve, but there is a path.

“On this one, pretty early I could learn. It’s ‘Foxes Never Quit’. It’s part of the identity of this club and we’ve shown early in the season that this team never gives up. The mentality the team is showing is really strong.

“The other is this fearless style. We have a lot of room to improve in that sense. We want to be that team that after scoring one goal chases the second one, then the third one.

“We spoke to the guys that they have to understand that in this league, even if you are leading 2-0 in minute 90, the game is not over. You have to make sure this control, it has a purpose. The purpose is to score goals.

“For me, it’s very important to be balanced about the reality of where we are. We can say the start has not been bad, but it has not been excellent. That’s why I’m so focused on improving everything.”
