Celtic are reportedly poised to miss out on striker target Franko Kovacevic during the January transfer window.
The NK Celje forward, who has netted 25 goals in 28 appearances this season, was linked with a switch to Parkhead earlier in the week.
However, RecordSport reports that the player has now agreed a move to Ferencvaros in a deal worth £2.6 million.
Celtic manager Martin O’Neill said earlier in the week: “I’m probably sure I have done,” when asked whether he had watched the player.
He added: “I’ve only looked at about four and a half thousand at this minute and that’s not bad given I’m only in a week.
“You can tell that we definitely need to get a centre forward.
“Young Johnny Kenny has done really fine in the games but I think it’s really harsh to put that kind of pressure on a young lad.
“We’re looking for help … but you know, I am trying.
“I know I haven’t done anything since yesterday but I am trying. We will definitely get people in.”
Celtic’s January search for a recognised striker goes on.
O’Neill remains conscious of the burden being placed on Johnny Kenny and is eager to bring in additional options.
The 73-year-old was seen at Fir Park on Saturday, reportedly to run the rule over Motherwell attacker Tawanda Maswanhise.
The Uganda international scored the decisive goal as Jens Berthel Askou’s side progressed to the fifth round of the Scottish Cup at the expense of Ross County.
It marked Maswanhise’s 15th goal of the campaign.
