Coventry City have completed a deal to bring Crystal Palace winger Romain Esse to the club on loan for the rest of the Championship campaign.
The 20-year-old has moved to the Sky Blues as Palace look to give the talented youngster more regular game time at this stage of his progression. Esse, who is capable of operating on the right flank or in a more central role, has made just 12 appearances for the Eagles this season.
Having arrived from Millwall at this point last year, the England Under-21 international featured more than 60 times for the Lions in the Championship across the previous three campaigns. He will also be a familiar figure to City assistant Joe Edwards, who previously had a managerial spell at The Den.
Frank Lampard has been eager to boost his options out wide, and Esse is expected to add depth and competition for Tatsuhiro Sakamoto on the right-hand side.

Esse arrived at Palace last January and scored with his very first touch for the club against Brentford.
He has made 16 appearances overall for Oliver Glasner’s side, including three outings in the UEFA Conference League.
Esse initially caught Palace’s attention with his standout performances for Millwall in the Championship.
After coming through the club’s academy system, he made his senior debut for the Lions in December 2022 at just 17 years of age.
He went on to feature 66 times for Millwall, finding the net on seven occasions, with his impressive displays earning him a move to the Premier League.
