Celtic have lodged a £2m bid to sign Maccabi Netanya winger Jocelin Ta Bi, according to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph.

The Glasgow heavyweights are seeking to add reinforcements during the January transfer window after an underwhelming start to the campaign. Their latest setback, a 3-1 home defeat to rivals Rangers, appears to have prompted the board to raise the intensity in their pursuit of new arrivals over the coming days.

Celtic have already finalised one piece of business this winter, with Julian Araujo joining on loan from Premier League outfit Bournemouth until the end of the season.

According to Sky Sports reporter Joseph, Celtic have tabled a £2m offer for Maccabi Netanya winger Jocelin Ta Bi. The 20-year-old is currently on loan with fellow Israeli club Hapoel Petah Tikva, who have already acknowledged that they expect to lose the attacker during this transfer window.

During his loan spell this season, Ta Bi has netted twice and registered two assists in the Ligat ha’Al. After Hapoel Petah Tikva’s victory this weekend, a club spokesperson confirmed they anticipate the player’s departure in the coming days and also revealed that Celtic are the club to have made an approach.

“We have been informed by Maccabi Netanya that there has only been one official offer for Jocelin Ta Bi and it was from Celtic. We expect him to leave in the coming days.”

Reports suggest the pressure is increasing on Nancy at Parkhead following Celtic’s recent loss to their Glasgow rivals Rangers. The Celtic hierarchy are understood to have already held discussions about a potential change in the dugout after a disappointing opening to his reign.
