Crystal Palace have tabled a loan bid to bring in Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb, according to the Daily Briefing.
The Eagles are expected to explore the market for additions in the forthcoming January transfer window, with Oliver Glasner managing a thin squad while attempting to juggle commitments across several competitions.
Palace were recently eliminated from the Carabao Cup, which has reduced the strain on their match calendar, but they remain active in the Europa Conference League while also pushing for European qualification in the league.
Glasner has previously urged the club’s hierarchy to provide stronger backing, most notably during the summer window, and given the limited rotation he uses in the Conference League, it is clear he will again be seeking reinforcements.
Crystal Palace Targeting Attacking Additions:
According to reports from the Daily Briefing, Crystal Palace have lodged a loan proposal with Manchester City for the possible acquisition of young winger Bobb. The Norwegian international could be available in the January window, particularly if City complete the signing of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth.
GIVEMESPORT sources recently revealed that Semenyo’s preferred destination this winter is the Etihad Stadium, despite significant interest from several other clubs. Consequently, Bobb may struggle for minutes, having already found opportunities limited under Pep Guardiola this campaign.
Bobb, described as ‘incredible’, has previously demonstrated his quality during his time at City, marking him out as a highly promising talent. However, he has found it tough to force his way into the senior side, especially after a serious injury sidelined him for a lengthy spell.
Bobb Could Be Ideal Fit for Crystal Palace:
Bobb is comfortable operating on the right flank, but as a winger who enjoys drifting inside into central areas, he could be a strong fit within Glasner’s tactical setup.
The Palace manager favours a system with two attacking midfielders capable of moving into wide positions, and that structure could provide Bobb with the platform to thrive.
Should the Eagles manage to strike an agreement with City that includes the option of a future permanent move, it could prove to be a shrewd piece of business for the London club. Even if Bobb arrives on a short-term basis, there is little doubt he has the quality to make a meaningful impact during the second half of the season.
