OFFICIAL — Crystal Palace Striker has now been RELEASED by club after Announcement by club that they have parted ways with the player after….

1. FC Nürnberg and Hindolo Mustapha have gone their separate ways after only six months, the club confirmed earlier today.

A decision has been reached to bring the 19-year-old’s loan stint with the 2. Bundesliga outfit to an early end.

Mustapha failed to register a single senior appearance for Nürnberg and will return to Crystal Palace for the time being.

“Hindolo undoubtedly has quality, but things didn’t work out at 1. FC Nürnberg as all parties had hoped.

“It was also important for the player’s sake to establish clarity early on and find a mutually agreeable solution,” said sporting director Joti Chatzialexiou.

Mustapha penned a fresh contract with Palace last summer following an outstanding 2024/25 campaign, which saw him named the club’s Under-21s Player of the Season.

Hindolo’s loan agreement will officially come to a close on 1 January 2026.

The Sierra Leone international had previously found himself on the receiving end of criticism from head coach Miroslav Klose back in November, a situation believed to have damaged their working relationship.

Tottenham weighing up Brennan Johnson sale amid Crystal Palace interest:

Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace have been handed a significant lift in their chase for Tottenham winger Brennan Johnson.

Johnson’s long-term future has become a major topic of discussion in recent weeks, with the attacker no longer holding a key role in the squad. According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham are actively considering selling the Welsh international, a development that will come as encouragement to Crystal Palace, who are keen admirers.

After emerging as a standout performer at Nottingham Forest, Johnson completed a move to Spurs in the summer of 2023 for £47.5 million. He played an influential role during his early spell in north London.

The 24-year-old featured in 51 games last season, contributing an impressive 18 goals and seven assists. However, Johnson has seen his influence diminish under Thomas Frank this term.

Johnson has made 20 appearances this season but has accumulated fewer than 900 minutes of senior action. Despite being tied to the club until the summer of 2028, his position at Spurs appears increasingly uncertain, having struggled for regular starts.

Tottenham are now believed to be open to cashing in amid growing interest in the winger. A potential sale could allow the club to reinvest in attacking options better suited to Frank’s tactical approach.

    Crystal Palace targeting Brennan Johnson:

Crystal Palace have surfaced as a possible destination for the forward and are expected to test Tottenham’s resolve during the winter transfer window. Spurs are understood to value Johnson at around £50 million, suggesting any deal would be far from straightforward.

With Ismaila Sarr set to depart for the Africa Cup of Nations, Glasner is eager to secure a replacement early in the window. It remains to be seen whether Palace will push hard to secure Johnson’s signature, as finances are likely to be the decisive factor in whether a deal can be completed.
